'Atlan' nominated for 2 awards at Idyllwild Festival

TEHRAN, Jan. 04 (MNA) – Moein Karimoddini’s documentary 'Atlan' directed by Moein Karimoddini was nominated for 2 awards from the American festival.

Atlan narrates the story of a horse-trainer, Ali Golnejad and his beloved horse, Ilhan, which is supposed to bring much success and glory to the family. Ali plans to marry his fiancé using the prize money won by Ilhan, but the events take a different turn to the worse and Ilhan receives an unfavorable draw, posing difficulties for Ali to grapple with winning the prize along Ilhan.

Produced in Iranian Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), Atlan along with screening at the international competition section of Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in US, was also nominated for two awards of the festival.

The festival which is an annual, competitive independent filmmaker-friendly film and arts festival, will be held in Idyllwild, California on January 5-15.

Atlan has won the Honorable Mention and Crystal Medal at the 34th Milano International Film Festival, Sport Movies & TV. It also has won Best Feature Award last week at Italy's Front Doc Festival.
